On Thursday, 21st November, Hannah, the owner of Boogie Beat Music and Movement, joined Mairi Curle, our Franchisee for Edinburgh, Mid, and East Lothian, at the prestigious National Children’s Awards 2024. This annual event celebrates the incredible impact of children’s activity providers across the UK, and it was an evening full of excitement and inspiration.

The awards brought together nearly 300 children’s activity providers, all dedicated to a shared goal: to offer children across the UK activities that help them grow in confidence, develop skills, and enjoy a positive start to life.

Mairi was a finalist in the Steve Franks Shining Star category, a highly competitive judged award. The other finalists were equally impressive, making it an honour just to be in such esteemed company.

Held at the Leonardo Hotel in Southampton, this marked the 18th year of the awards organised by the amazing team at What’s On 4 Kids (www.whatson4kids.co.uk). The evening’s dress code was sparkles, and the room certainly shone! There were sequins galore, and the whole atmosphere was filled with excitement, laughter, and energy as everyone celebrated the night.

The night kicked off with a drinks reception hosted by ICAP (Institute of Children’s Activity Providers), offering a wonderful opportunity to network with fellow providers. The evening officially began with a warm welcome address from Sam Godfrey, MD and Founder of What’s On 4 Kids, and Sue Lee, MD of Morton Michel.

After an incredible light show, the awards ceremony commenced, followed by a delicious dinner. There were plenty of emotional moments, with winners being celebrated amidst cheers, laughter, and a few tears. While we didn’t take home a trophy this year, being recognised as a finalist among so many exceptional activity providers is a huge achievement that we’re immensely proud of.

The evening wrapped up with lively dancing and more opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals in the children’s activity sector. It was a night to remember, full of celebration, camaraderie, and inspiration, and we’re so grateful to have been part of it.

Looking forward to next year!
