Hello I’m Michelle and I’m super excited to be part of the Boogie Beat family, bringing fun and engaging music and movement classes/workshops to children across the south of Sheffield.

I’ve had a strong passion for music and dance from a very young age, attending dance classes, performing dance shows and eventually assisting teaching small groups of young dance pupils. Additionally, I have been a member of choirs and amateur dramatic groups.  I was even involved in helping a local community project which involved assisting teaching groups of school children as well as residents to perform a La La Land inspired dance routine in the town centre, in aid of Comic Relief.

I’ve had a dream for many years of starting my own business in a field I absolutely adore. The switch flicked when I attended a similar class whilst visiting my friend and her little girl in Dunbar.  My friend said, ‘You’d be brilliant at this!’ So that spurred me on to fulfilling my dream, and here I am!

Seeing my young nephews grow and develop is such an honour and a pleasure as an Auntie.  They are in their element when there’s music playing and expressing themselves so joyfully and innocently . It’s another reason and a passion that I want to share that joy with children in my home of Sheffield.

I also feel that community is a vital aspect of my desire to pursue this dream with Boogie Beat.  Coming from a background within a family business, heavily focussed on community with multi-generations forming such an important and cherished element of the business, the fact that Boogie Beat offers intergenerational workshops is a huge pull factor for me.
