Almost nine years ago, Sharon took a leap of faith—and a big boogie step—into the world of
franchising. With a background in teaching and a heart full of passion for working with children, she was looking for something more flexible, something that could blend her career with her family life. That’s when she discovered Boogie Beat Music & Movement.
“I wanted to still work with children but also be there for my family,” Sharon shares. “Boogie Beat offered the perfect balance.” At the time of joining Boogie Beat Sharon had 3 young children so being able to work flexibility, do the school runs and be there for important school events such as sports day and nativity plays it was the perfect fit.
What drew her in? The inspiration and energy of the training, especially from Lisa, who at the time was one of the Boogie Beat owners, who made a lasting impression. The sessions were packed with traditional stories, infectious music, and the kind of magic that makes little faces light up with joy. Sharon knew this wouldn’t just be another job—it was a passion project waiting to bloom.
Starting a franchise isn’t without its challenges, but with support from her parents and a well-timed loan, Sharon set the wheels in motion. And she’s never looked back.
“Fabulous training and support from head office,” she says. “I’ve always felt like I was part of a team.”
One of the things Sharon loves most about her business? The freedom. Being her own boss means she can be there when it matters most, and still have an absolute blast delivering fun-filled Boogie Beat sessions. Sharon also worked 1 day a week in a school so that she could continue with her teaching but in 2024 decided to completely leave teaching and run her Boogie Beat business 4 days a week and have every Friday off!
Over the years, Sharon’s business has become more than just a job—it’s become a journey of growth, confidence, and creativity. She’s discovered how much she enjoys running workshops and how successful she can be, she puts her heart and soul into every session.
“I wish I’d known from the start just how good it could be,” she reflects. “And how much opportunity there is to grow.”
Looking ahead, Sharon is excited to expand—bringing Boogie Beat magic to even more nurseries and care homes in her area. Her vision for the next three years is all about growth, connection, and spreading joy across generations.
