From the 28th April to 2nd May, Boogie Beat Music and Movement held an action packed singing and dancing fundraiser in support of Action for Children – and what an incredible week it was!

Our theme this year? Beautiful Bugs! Across our classes and workshops, little ones dressed up and danced as butterflies, ladybirds, and all kinds of wriggly, giggly bugs. The energy was infectious as we sang, danced, and explored the world of music and movement with big smiles and even bigger hearts. Our story was all about the life cycle of a caterpillar and our story ended with us all flying around the room as butterflies.

As part of the fundraising fun, we launched a Virtual Balloon Race online, which brought lots of excitement across our community. Families could sponsor a digital balloon and watch it race through the skies in real time – a fantastic way to bring people together while supporting a great cause. Every morning Hannah, our Boogie Beat owner, announced the Top 3 positions and families could track their balloons throughout the week flying over an image of London.

Throughout the week, our team proudly wore Action for Children t-shirts while out and about, spreading awareness and sparking conversations with families about the important work this charity does to support vulnerable children and young people across the UK.

We’re thrilled to share that we received generous donations from our workshops and from the wonderful parents in our regular classes. Every pound raised is going to help children who need it most – and we couldn’t have done it without your kindness and support.

Most of all, we had so much fun! There’s nothing quite like seeing our little ones giggle and dance while learning, sharing, and giving back. Whether we were floating our balloons in cyberspace or fluttering through the room as bugs, the spirit of community and giving was everywhere.

Thank you to everyone who took part – your enthusiasm, generosity, and joy made this event truly special. Here’s to more magical music, movement, and making a difference!
