“Dance and Music Are Natural Ways for Children to Learn” – Boogie Beat’s Journey

Since I was young, I’ve had a deep passion for music and dance. I played multiple instruments and performed in local dance shows. After having children, I realised my demanding Area Management role was taking too much time away from my family. I knew I needed a change.

Attending local baby music groups sparked my interest, and I started exploring options to bring a similar program to my area. In 2015, I discovered Boogie Beat and instantly loved how the structured sessions stimulated children’s creativity while engaging both their minds and bodies.

I became a Boogie Beat franchisee in 2015 and watched my business flourish. I’m passionate about the energy and excitement our sessions bring to children, and I love watching their confidence grow. In 2022, I proudly took over ownership of Boogie Beat Music and Movement Ltd., and we’re continuing to expand the program’s reach across the UK.

Boogie Beat Music and Movement History

Boogie Beat was founded in May 2000 by Nicky and Lisa, who started running back-to-back music and movement classes in Cheddar on Saturday mornings. Soon, they added mid-week classes, parties, and were invited to extend Boogie Beat to more areas.

As Boogie Beat grew, they introduced workshops in nurseries and schools, perfectly aligning with the EYFS curriculum. They also began hosting intergenerational workshops in care homes, bringing together young children and elderly residents. This has become one of the most rewarding aspects of Boogie Beat, with children, teachers, managers, and residents all enjoying our sessions together.

In 2009, the first Boogie Beat franchise launched in North Somerset, and now we proudly have over 20 franchisees across the country.
