Inclusion at Boogie Beat Music and Movement
We champion inclusion in all of our sessions that we run across the UK. We want to make sure that every child has the chance to learn and develop at their own pace and that our sessions are accessible and welcoming to all children. Check out your local Boogie Beat webpage as this will show you videos and photos of their team and the venues that they use to share with your children.
Ways we support inclusivity in our sessions
Booking Form:
Our booking form is the first step in getting to know your child and understanding how we can best accommodate their needs. It includes the question:
‘Does the attendee have any access requirements or disabilities we should be aware of to help make their experience as comfortable and inclusive as possible? (Please include any mobility, sensory, communication, or other needs you’d like us to consider.)’
This helps out teams to prepare and tailor the experience from your very first class. We may follow up with you if we feel a more detailed conversation would be helpful.
Website:
Our website pages include photos and videos from different franchise areas across the UK, allowing you to show your child who will be leading their session. If attending a class, you’ll also be able to view venue details, parking information, and how to access the hall.
Makaton:
All team members complete Makaton Level 1 within their first year at Boogie Beat. We also use visual boards with Makaton symbols, helping children understand the flow of each session through a simple timetable.
Sensory Tub:
Many of our franchisees provide a Sensory Tub filled with Boogie Beat equipment that children are welcome to use during sessions. Each class also includes a quiet area in the same room, offering a calm space for children to self-regulate when needed.
Our tubs include ear defenders, sand timers, puppets, breathing exercise cards, scarves and wrist bells, which can be found in our instrument box.
