Almost 10 years ago, I made one of the most significant decisions of my life: I joined Boogie Beat Music and Movement. At that time, I had spent years working in retail, first as a store manager, and then as an area manager for four years. I enjoyed many aspects of my career, but when I became a mother, I quickly realised the corporate environment wasn’t going to be sustainable. The long hours, weekend work, constant travel, and lack of flexibility were tough to balance with family life.

Making the decision to leave retail and look for a new direction wasn’t easy, but I’m so glad I did. That’s when I discovered Boogie Beat Music and Movement, and from the moment I learned about it, I was hooked. The idea of creating a space where children could learn through music and movement—helping them grow, express themselves, and gain confidence—was exactly what I had been searching for. Not only did Boogie Beat allow me to be a bigger part of my local community in Aldershot, but it also gave me the incredible opportunity to be a part of so many children’s early development.

For seven years, I poured my heart into bringing Boogie Beat to Aldershot. It gave me the flexibility I needed as a mother—being able to work part-time, adjust my schedule, and even scale my business as my children grew. Suddenly, weekends were no longer dominated by work, and I had the freedom to enjoy more precious family moments. But beyond that, the joy and fulfilment I found in building connections with children and their families, watching their confidence bloom through music and movement, was irreplaceable.

Then, nearly three years ago, I faced another life-changing moment. The original owners of Boogie Beat Music and Movement offered me the opportunity to purchase the head office. It felt like such an honour to be trusted with the company they had nurtured, and the timing felt perfect. My children were older, and I was ready for this next step.

Running both my local classes in Aldershot and the Boogie Beat head office has been an exhilarating journey. Over the past three years, we’ve grown in so many ways—launching a new website, upgrading our equipment, implementing a new back-office system, welcoming new franchisees, and even becoming finalists and winners of various awards. Each milestone has been a proud reminder of how far we’ve come, and it’s amazing to reflect on everything we’ve achieved.

As I continue on this path, I’m filled with excitement and anticipation for what’s next. Every day brings new opportunities to inspire, connect, and grow both personally and professionally. Watching children light up during our classes never gets old—it’s a privilege to be part of their world.

I can’t wait to see where this incredible journey takes us over the coming years. Watch this space, because there’s so much more to come! If you would like to be part of our journey and are interested in a franchise then visit our franchise page for more information.
