This year marks a very special milestone for Sharon, who is celebrating 10 incredible years of running her Boogie Beat business. Over the past decade, Sharon has built a thriving timetable of sessions, supported families and nurseries, and created countless magical musical moments for children and adults alike.
We asked Sharon to reflect on her journey, what she loves most about Boogie Beat, and what advice she would give to anyone considering starting their own franchise.
A Decade of Music, Movement and Magic
When Sharon first started her Boogie Beat journey ten years ago, she was looking for a business that combined fun, flexibility and meaningful work. Since then, she has grown her business into a full-time role, delivering sessions across her area and making a real difference to the communities she works with.
Running Boogie Beat has allowed Sharon to build a career that fits around her family, as Boogie Beat has grown so have her 3 children and all whilst doing something she genuinely loves.
“One of the best things about Boogie Beat is the flexibility, the fantastic fun, and the amazing impact it can have on children and adults alike!”
Every week Sharon sees first-hand how music, movement and storytelling help children grow in confidence, develop key skills and create joyful shared experiences with the adults around them.
The Best Bits of Boogie Beat
After 10 years in the business, Sharon still feels just as passionate about Boogie Beat as she did when she started.
Her favourite things about running her franchise include:
Flexibility – Being able to run a business that works around her life while still growing something successful.
Fantastic fun – Every session is full of music, movement, imagination and laughter.
Making a difference – Seeing the positive impact sessions have on both children and adults is incredibly rewarding.
Boogie Beat sessions bring people together in a unique way, using traditional stories, music and movement to create magical experiences for little ones.
The Challenges Along the Way
Of course, running a successful business also comes with challenges.
For Sharon, one of the hardest parts is saying goodbye to the wonderful Boogie Beat children and families she meets along the way.
As children grow older, move on to school or change nurseries, it can be emotional to say goodbye to those who have been part of the Boogie Beat journey.
Another challenge is simply finding enough time in the day.
Running a thriving timetable, planning sessions, building relationships with settings and families, and continuing to grow the business can make for very busy days.
But for Sharon, the rewards far outweigh the challenges.
Growing a Full-Time Boogie Beat Business
Sharon currently runs her Boogie Beat business full time, delivering sessions and building strong relationships with the communities she serves.
Her next goals are focused on growing even further. Over the coming months and years she plans to:
✨ Grow her team by bringing in additional teachers
✨ Add more sessions to her already busy timetable
✨ Enhance her Makaton and SEND training to make sessions even more inclusive and supportive for all children
These plans reflect Sharon’s dedication to making Boogie Beat accessible and beneficial for as many children as possible.
Support from Head Office
Running a franchise doesn’t mean doing it alone, and Sharon highlights how important the support from head office has been throughout her journey.
“Amazing! Hannah is always willing to help in any way possible.”
Having that guidance, encouragement and ongoing support has helped Sharon grow her confidence and develop her business over the past decade.
Advice for Future Boogie Beat Franchisees
For anyone thinking about joining the Boogie Beat family, Sharon’s advice is simple:
“Do it! It’ll be the best decision you ever made!”
For the right person, someone with enthusiasm, passion and a love for working with children, running a Boogie Beat franchise can be an incredibly rewarding career.
Looking to the Future
Even after 10 years, Sharon’s passion for Boogie Beat is stronger than ever.
When asked where she sees herself in the future, her answer is clear:
“Continuing to be the proud owner of a flourishing Boogie Beat business!”
With her enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to making a difference, there’s no doubt Sharon’s Boogie Beat journey will continue to go from strength to strength.
