Why Boogie Beat Parties Are Perfect for Mixed-Age Groups

Planning a child’s birthday party can be tricky, especially when the guest list includes a wide age range of children — from babies in arms to toddlers, early primary school kids, and even older siblings or cousins. But that’s where Boogie Beat Parties truly shine.

Having recently hosted a fantastic party for a 4-year-old with around 25 children, plus babies and teens in tow, it was clear to see why Boogie Beat is such a hit for diverse age groups. Here’s what makes our parties so special and inclusive for everyone:

To keep everyone engaged, we offered choices during the parachute activity: children could decide whether to be on the pirate or princess side, and it was wonderful to see both boys and girls confidently choosing what felt right for them.

Older kids, like 6- and 7-year-olds, often want to feel different from the younger crowd. To engage them fully, I involve them by giving them special roles. Whether it’s helping hand out props or assisting with storytelling, this responsibility makes them feel valued and important. At this recent party, one older sibling became my go-to helper and absolutely loved being a leader during activities.

For the under-twos and toddlers who may prefer exploring at their own pace, I always bring along a baby box filled with sensory treasures such as rainbow shakers and sensory balls. These resources are freely available throughout the party, allowing little ones and their parents to engage whenever they feel ready.

One particularly adorable moment was when the birthday girl’s baby sister, just over one year old, formed a delightful bond with Giggles (our cuddly puppet). She carried Giggles around the entire party, creating her own magical adventures!

We’re committed to making our parties inclusive for all children, including those sensitive to noise. I always offer ear defenders as an option. At this party, two children initially sat out due to anxiety about the music. After gently explaining that ear defenders would make the music quieter, both children joined back in, enjoying the activities with confidence.

Even older teens can find a place in our imaginative adventures. During our “Under the Sea” segment, I handed them bubble machines and invited them to help create a magical bubble-filled environment. They took on this role enthusiastically, adding an extra layer of joy to the story.
