When asked what she loves most about running her Boogie Beat business, Jodie sums it up in three simple words: “Fun, flexible and rewarding.”
Those three words perfectly capture the Boogie Beat experience. Every week, Jodie gets to share magical storytelling adventures, music, movement and imagination with children while also enjoying the flexibility that comes with running her own business.
Today, Jodie runs her business full-time and has already expanded her team with a class teacher. With demand continuing to grow, she is currently looking to recruit a second teacher, allowing even more families to experience the magic of Boogie Beat.
Main challenge?
Of course, running a business isn’t always straightforward. Like many small business owners, Jodie has faced challenges along the way. When asked about the hardest part of running a franchise, she admits that organisation doesn’t come naturally to her.
“Being organised. I am not an organised person and often end up doing admin a little last minute!”
It’s a refreshingly honest answer and one that many business owners can relate to. Running classes, managing bookings, marketing, administration and family life requires careful juggling. However, Jodie proves that you don’t need to be perfect at everything to build a successful business. What matters is your passion, determination and willingness to keep learning.
Support provided
One of the things that has helped Jodie grow her business is the support available through the Boogie Beat network. As a franchisee, she has access to ongoing training, regular meetings and a supportive community of fellow business owners.
When asked about the support from head office, Jodie describes it as:

Future
Looking ahead, Jodie has some exciting plans for the future. Her first priority is to continue expanding her presence in Stroud, bringing Boogie Beat classes to even more local families. She is also passionate about increasing awareness and opportunities for children with additional needs by developing more SEND-focused classes.
Alongside this, growing her teaching team remains a key focus, enabling the business to reach more communities while maintaining the high-quality experience that families know and love.
Jodie’s long-term vision reflects her passion for inclusion and making a difference. She hopes to become firmly established across both Gloucester and Stroud with a strong team of class teachers supporting her.
She also has ambitions to work more closely with SEN specialist schools and nurseries, bringing the benefits of music, movement and storytelling to even more children.
