At Boogie Beat Edinburgh Mid and East Lothian, we’ve been using Pebble for over three years now, and honestly, it’s become a core part of how we run our business. It’s also used by the Franchisee’s across the Boogie Beat network.
From booking community classes and intergenerational sessions to managing nursery workshops with parent opt-ins, Pebble makes everything seamless. Parents find it easy to use, and for me as a children’s activity provider, the ability to quickly clone activities each term or add on a new schedule and invite families to rebook is invaluable.
So, when Pebble reached out earlier this year to say they were coming up to Scotland to meet activity providers, and asked if they could film at Boogie Beat, I didn’t hesitate.
Because if you know me… I don’t say no to an opportunity (even if it feels a little bit scary!).
A Chance to Capture What We Do
One of the things I was most excited about was the possibility of getting beautiful, natural footage of our sessions.
When I’m leading a class, I’m fully in it – singing, storytelling, making eye contact, connecting. Taking photos is always an afterthought (if it happens at all), because I never want children to feel like I’m behind a screen. That connection matters too much. I know I am not along here as my team often comment on how tricky it is to capture images of the amazing moments they share with the children and those photos that are captured are often just streaks of moving children – as we are always so active.
So having someone there to capture those moments properly- That felt special.
Filming at Our Community Class
We started the day at our weekly community class at the Glencorse Centre – one we’ve been running every Wednesday during term time for nearly three years now.
It’s a class full of familiar faces, which made it the perfect setting for filming. Everyone was relaxed, happy, and open to being part of the experience.
Tom, the videographer, was fantastic—calm, subtle, and incredibly respectful of the space. He blended into the background so well that it never felt intrusive, which is so important in a class like ours.
We packed in everything that makes Boogie Beat special:
- Makaton signing
- Singing and storytelling
- Instruments and sensory props
- Scarves, parachutes and bubbles
All the little things that create that joyful, immersive experience for children and their grown-ups.
Intergenerational Magic at Viewpark Care Home
In the afternoon, we headed to Viewpark Care Home—and this was the part I was most passionate about sharing.
I’d explained to Pebble beforehand just how special our intergenerational sessions are. Bringing together care home residents and nursery children creates something truly unique—there’s a warmth and connection in the room that’s hard to put into words.
Because the space is quite small, Tom used a wide-angle lens so he could stay back and avoid moving around too much. That meant he could capture those beautiful, natural interactions without disrupting the flow of the session.
And honestly… those moments are everything.
Looking Ahead
I cannot wait to see the final footage.
I’m especially excited to see how it might be used more widely, and whether Hannah and the team can use it across Boogie Beat to showcase what we do—because I truly believe in the power of collaboration.
Teamwork really does make the dream work 💙🧡
A Personal Reflection
If I’m honest, having someone filming throughout the day was quite exhausting.
But I just kept coming back to what I do best—focusing on the children, being present, and creating those moments of connection.
That’s my happy place.
And I really hope… that’s exactly what shines through in the footage ✨
